Una Terra becomes one of the first Venture Capital Funds in Europe to join PRI

ZURICH – Una Terra is honored to announce its decision to sign on to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), becoming one of the first Venture Capital Funds in Europe to join the organization.

The PRI is recognized as the leading global network for investors who are committed to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into their investment practices and ownership policies. Una Terra VC Fund will implement the principles in its management of the fund’s financial assets.

“As long-term investors, we are by nature focused on material ESG factors and the responsible stewardship of our investments,” said Luca A. Zerbini, CEO and Founder of Una Terra VC Fund.

“After careful review of the PRI, we decided that implementing the principles put forth by this pioneering organization is a natural step for us in the evolution of our sustainable investment practices. At the same time, it is consistent with our paramount focus on maximizing returns to support the mission of Una Terra VC Fund.”

The decision to join the PRI follows a careful review process and Una Terra General Partners’ commitment to reduce CO2 from the environment by 2Gt, as well as reduce plastic waste by 1 mio tons by 2030.

The PRI’s network of international investors work together to implement a set of voluntary principles that provide a framework for integrating ESG factors into investment analysis and ownership practices aligned with investors’ fiduciary duties.

David Atkin, CEO at the Principles for Responsible Investment, comments: “We’re pleased to welcome Una Terra as a signatory to the PRI. The expansion of ESG within the Venture Capital space is an important one, needed to facilitate effective, systemic change in companies as they grow. We look forward to working with Una Terra to help the firm deliver positive responsible investment outcomes in the future.

In addition to subscribing to the PRI’s principles, Una Terra VC Fund is also a member of the UN Global Compact, as well as being Art.9 compliant and waiting to complete the B-Corp Certification process.
